It is reported that Shilanwei's IGBT device revenue in the first half of 2021 was 190 million yuan, + 110% of the same period last year. The company's automotive specification-level IGBT module B1 and B3 packaging products have entered the stage of batch supply, which is equivalent to Infineon's five-generation technology.

However, a reporter from Science and Technology Innovation Board Daily learned from people close to BYD that the news was true. "on the one hand, BYD semiconductor production capacity is really tight, on the other hand, it is to reduce related transactions with BYD Group."
"those who get the order are not only Shilan Wei, but also Starr Semiconductor, time Electric, China Resources Micro and so on. As long as they are verified by BYD, almost all the manufacturers have a share." The above informed person told Science and Technology Innovation Board Daily that car specification-level products have extremely high requirements for reliability and safety, there is a very strict certification process, and the verification cycle of downstream manufacturers is as long as more than a year.
According to the IPO report updated by BYD Semiconductor on December 1, BYD Group's related sales in 2018, 2019, 2020 and the first half of 2021 were 910 million yuan, 600 million yuan, 851 million yuan and 670 million yuan, respectively, and the revenue accounted for 67.88%, 54.86%, 59.02% and 54.24%, respectively.
In terms of production capacity, BYD semiconductor power semiconductor modules (which have been converted into standard two-unit modules at the vehicle specification level) have a production capacity of 1.3 million units in the first half of 2021, with an output of 1.1052 million units, a capacity utilization rate of 85.02% and a production and sales rate of 99.88%.
However, the above capacity obviously can not meet the needs of the future new energy vehicle market. Wang Chuanfu, chairman and president of BYD Group, said at the 2021 Sequoia Digital Technology Global leaders Summit that the demand for semiconductors for electric vehicles is 5-10 times higher than that for conventional cars.
It is understood that IGBT accounts for about 80% of new energy vehicle power semiconductors and is the most beneficial subdivision of automotive electrification. The tripartite organizations have predicted that China's new energy vehicle sales will reach 6.54 million in 2025, with a penetration rate of 21%, which is expected to lead China's new energy vehicle IGBT market to grow from 2.73 billion yuan in 2020 to 11.26 billion yuan in 2025, with a CAGR of 33%.
As for why Sergeant Lan Wei, a senior researcher of private equity institutions, told Science and Technology Innovation Board Daily: "first of all, the whole car factory is more favored by IDM model manufacturers." IDM manufacturers can not only guarantee production capacity independently and efficiently, but also save the link of verifying other industrial chain companies; secondly, the scale of Shilan micro production capacity is among the highest in China. "
Data show that Shilan Wei is currently one of the few IDM mode semiconductor products companies in China. The company has an integrated production capacity of 210000 pieces per month, 6 inches per month, 8 inches, 60, 000 pieces per month, and the holding company, Shilan Jike, has a 12-inch production capacity, which is expected to reach 35, 000 to 40, 000 pieces per month by the end of 2021. In addition, the plant and power facilities of the second phase of the 12-inch line (20,000 pieces per month) have been built, and the production capacity is expected to reach 60,000 pieces per month by the end of 2022.
Prior to this, Shilan Wei announced on June 21 that it planned to invest in the construction of the first phase of the automotive and industrial power module and power integrated device packaging production line through the holding subsidiary Chengdu Jijia. Expand investment in power devices and power module packaging production lines. The total investment of the project is 758 million yuan, the construction period is 2 years, and the production period is 2 years.
