SHANGHAI, Dec 8 (SMM) – According to statistics from the General Administration of Customs of China, China imported 104.96 million mt of iron ore and iron concentrates in November, an increase of 15% on the month and 7% year-on-year. The imports totalled 1.04 billion mt, down 4.96% on the year.
The imports in November reached the peak of the year. The shipments from Brazilian ports increased after the overhaul ended. At the same time, the domestic steel mills achieved the reduction target of the crude steel output ahead of schedule, so they gradually resumed production in December. The demand of iron ore is expected to grow.
