Malaysia Postponed Metal Scrap Import Regulations until Next Year

Malaysia announced on Monday that it will postpone the implementation of the new metal scrap import regulations until next year, in order to give the industry more time to adapt to the new regulations and comply with them.

SHANGHAI, Nov 2 (SMM) – Malaysia announced on Monday that it will postpone the implementation of the new metal scrap import regulations until next year, in order to give the industry more time to adapt to the new regulations and comply with them.

According to the original plan, the new regulations would take effect on November 1. The new metal scrap import regulations stipulate that Malaysia only permits the import of high-grade scraps, and requires that the metal content in ferrous and non-ferrous scraps be at least 94.75%.
