SMM Evening Comments (May 28): Nonferrous metals on the SHFE rose across the board, nickel soared 4.85%

SHFE nonferrous metals all closed higher on Friday May 28. Copper rose 2.22%, aluminium added 1.47%, zinc increased 2.83%, nickel soared 4.85%, lead gained 1.6% and tin surged 4.81%.  

SHANGHAI, May 28 (SMM) – SHFE nonferrous metals all closed higher on Friday May 28. Copper rose 2.22%, aluminium added 1.47%, zinc increased 2.83%, nickel soared 4.85%, lead gained 1.6% and tin surged 4.81%.  

Copper: The most-traded SHFE 2107 copper contract jumped 2.22% to finish the day at 73,350 yuan/mt, with open interest rising 5,747 lots to 139,000 lots.

Aluminium: The most-active SHFE 2107 aluminium contract rose 1.47% to close the day at 18,670 yuan/mt, with open interest decreasing 8,611 lots to 213,000 lots.

Zinc: The most-liquid SHFE 2107 zinc contract rose 2.83% to end the day at 23,045 yuan/mt, with open interest adding 13,698 lots to 108,000 lots.

Nickel: The most-traded SHFE 2107 nickel contract soared 4.85% to finish the day at 132,310 yuan/mt, with open interest increasing 11,741 lots to 126,000 lots.

Lead: The most-active SHFE 2107 lead contract closed the day 1.6% higher at 15,600 yuan/mt, with open interest adding 113 lots to 57,827 lots.

Tin: The most-liquid SHFE 2107 tin contract surged 4.81% to end the day at 207,900 yuan/mt, with open interest rising 6,068 lots to 39,172 lots.
