SHANGHAI, Nov 13 (SMM) – Operating rates across licensed smelters of secondary lead in Jiangsu, Anhui, Henan and Guizhou averaged 51.4% in the week ended November 13, up 0.6 percentage point from the previous week, showed an SMM survey.

The average operating rate in Anhui gained 3.8 percentage points on the week to 47.1%, as Anhui Dahua recovered from maintenance.

The average operating rate in Henan increased 4.4 percentage points to 75.7%, as Henan Jinli restarted its production lines which had been halted due to shortage of battery scrap.

Difficulties in purchasing battery scrap further weighed on output at Jiangsu New Chunxin, which lowered the average local operating rate by 6.7 percentage points to 33.33%.

The average operating rate in Guizhou remained unchanged at 62%.

In addition to surveyed smelters, some smelters in Shandong and Jiangxi raised production to normal levels this week, and several small and medium-scale smelters in Henan Jiyuan trimmed or suspended output due to environmental restrictions.
