SMM Network News: a few days ago, BYD mobile charging service was officially launched. When the car owner runs out of electricity and needs emergency charging, he can call the customer service hotline, and the system will send a service car to charge the vehicle designated by the owner. It is reported that the charging service will be completed within 60 minutes, with a national uniform charge of 295 yuan per kilowatt-hour, or about 30 yuan per kilowatt-hour, and 5 yuan for each additional kilowatt-hour beyond 10 kilowatt-hour.
Why did BYD launch the "sky-high price" mobile charging service? It is understood that this is not a daily universal service, but a rescue service when vehicle owners need emergency electricity (such as running out of electricity on the way). When the system receives the rescue call, the distribution vehicle will send the charging pile to the location of the vehicle at the first time, and there will be professional power delivers to help operate it. After the system is fully charged, the owner and the service provider will settle the fee.
It is worth mentioning that at present, the service is not supported in Xinjiang, Inner Mongolia, Tibet, Qinghai and Gansu, while car owners in other provinces and cities can enjoy the service at ease. Compared with the "sky-high price" service charge for breaking down and calling a trailer on the way, spending a few hundred yuan should be urgent, and BYD's service is good value for money.
BYD is not the first car company to launch the service. Previously, Lailai Motor has launched the NIO Power convenient power-up service, with a charge of 380 yuan per time. Car owners can place an order through "Weilai Power-up" Mini Program click "call now", and the power-up service is not limited to Weilai cars, all pure electric cars with GB DC fast charging can enjoy this service.
Comments:
Whether it is Lailai or BYD, the purpose of the mobile charging service is to ease the mileage anxiety of electric car owners, but in the final analysis, in order to solve the mileage anxiety problem, we need to start with the fundamental problem of battery life. Recently, Toyota is developing a fluorine ion battery technology that can drive an electric vehicle at 1000km on a single charge. Coincidentally, Ningde Times has also put forward a new idea, claiming to integrate the power battery with the vehicle chassis, so that the electric vehicle can have a longer range than the 800km. The ideals are beautiful, but the improvement of mileage cannot be at the expense of battery safety. We look forward to seeing more electric vehicles on the road that can run long distances and take into account the safety of vehicles.
