SHANGHAI, Jun 18 (SMM) – Yashi nickel smelting project at Indonesia Weda Bay Industrial Park (IWIP) is expected to see its first batch of ferronickel output at the end of June or the beginning of July, after two production lines were ignited in early June.
The two production lines each are able to produce 800 mt Ni of ferronickel per month.
This project is owned by Chinese investors—Zhenshi Group and Tsingshan Group.
Phase 1 of the project consists of four production lines, and Zhenshi is raising money for phase 2 of the project, which will include nickel metal production lines with annual output of 35,000 mt and a 250MW captive coal-fired power plant.
