Malaysia to impose anti-dumping duties on cold-rolled coils from China for 5 years

SHANGHAI, Dec 27 (SMM) – Malaysia has decided to impose anti-dumping duties on imports of cold rolled coils of iron or non-alloy steel from China, Japan, South Korea and Vietnam, the Ministry of International Trade and Industry said on Thursday.

The duties, specifically for coils of more than 1,300 mm width, are effective for five years from December 25, 2019 to December 24, 2024.

The highest duty of 26.39% was imposed on all Japanese producers, while South Korean producers will face a 3.84% duty, except for POSCO, which had zero duty imposed.

A duty of 26.38% was set for most Chinese producers, while Angang Steel, Maanshan Iron and Steel and Shougang Jingtang United Iron & Steel will face duties of 4.82%, 4.76% and 8.74%, respectively.

A duties of 20.13% was set for firms in Vietnam, except for POSCO Vietnam, which will face a duty of 7.7%.
