SHANGHAI, Nov 29 (SMM) – Operating rates across licensed smelters of secondary lead in Jiangsu, Anhui and Henan provinces averaged 55% in the week ending November 29, up 2.8 percentage points from the previous week as smog-control measures limitedly affected secondary lead production.
The average rate in Henan increased 11 percentage points on the week to 58.4% due to resumption of Henan Jinli, which currently has two battery scrap dissembling lines in operation. Difficulties in procuring cheap battery scrap, however, kept the smelter below full treatment capacity.
The rates in Jiangsu and Anhui remained unchanged from a week ago at 74.7% and 36% respectively.
