In the past two years, the development of Great Wall Automobile in the field of new energy is getting faster and faster, and the launch of the Euler brand has also given Great Wall Automobile a voice in the field of pure electric vehicles. As the core component of pure electric vehicle, battery system has also become the key layout field of Great Wall automobile. SMM: in the past two years, the development of Great Wall Automobile in the field of new energy is getting faster and faster, and the launch of the Euler brand has also given Great Wall Automobile a voice in the field of pure electric vehicles. As the core component of pure electric vehicle, battery system has also become the key layout field of Great Wall automobile. The online car market has learned from Great Wall officials that it is currently developing new solid-state batteries that will double its energy density. In the future, the application in the model will make the mileage of the whole vehicle increase greatly.

Whether it is the main engine factory, or consumers have a high life demand for electric vehicles, the high nickel of the power battery has become the consensus of the industry. However, how to balance the safety performance after the improvement of energy density is the problem faced by the current industrial chain. After all, it is easy to increase the energy density of batteries, but safety is always the "bottom line" of the development of electric vehicles. Ouyang Minggao, a professor at Tsinghua University and an academician of the Chinese Academy of Sciences, has made it clear that one of the most urgent tasks is how to raise the safe balance point to the energy density of 300Wh/kg.

At this stage, most car companies use the battery system mass energy density between 130-150Wh/kg, the highest can reach 160Wh/kg. In the document "Action Plan for promoting the Development of Automobile Power Battery Industry" and "medium-and long-term Development Plan of Automobile Industry" issued by the state, it is pointed out that by 2020, the specific energy of power battery in China will reach more than 300wh/kg, and the specific energy of the system will reach 260whg, and the cost will be reduced to less than 1 yuan per watt-hour.

In this context, the Great Wall holding Group Honeycomb Energy took the lead in the development of quaternary cathode materials, and based on this material released the world's first quaternary material cell, taking into account the energy density and safety. The quaternary materials developed by honeycomb energy can achieve better heat resistance, less gas production and higher safety by doping Mx, on the basis of NCM system (nickel, cobalt and manganese). The power battery has higher capacity, longer life and better safety. Great Wall's Euler brand currently uses a battery energy density of 160Whkg, and the new solid-state battery being developed will exceed the energy density of 300Wh/kg.

In addition to safety, the cost of power battery is also an urgent problem to be solved in front of the major car companies, after all, it has a direct impact on the competition between electric vehicles and traditional fuel vehicles. In the existing ternary lithium-ion power batteries, the cost of cathode materials accounts for 30%-45%. Take the 523 system as an example, the proportion of cobalt in it is as high as 20%, but the cobalt resources are increasingly scarce, and its price fluctuation directly affects the cost of the final cell.

On the premise of high nickel system, including Panasonic, LG, Ningde era and other international mainstream power battery enterprises are taking low-cobalt and cobalt-free batteries as the research and development direction of the next generation of power batteries. In this segment, Great Wall has once again taken the lead, with Honeycomb Energy taking the lead in releasing the world's first cobalt-free battery, which will be officially mass-produced next year.

Silicon Metal Market Review for January and Outlook for February
In January, the silicon metal market experienced a relatively loose supply-demand balance, with a theoretical inventory buildup of approximately 30,000 mt. In February, both supply and demand contracted simultaneously, and the market is expected to show a tight balance or minor destocking. The current high industry inventory still requires time to be digested, and the sustainability of destocking remains a key variable affecting price trends and market sentiment.

A plant in northern China is calling for bids for indium ingots and bismuth ingots
SMM, February 6 - According to SMM’s investigation of market information, a large smelter in northern China began public bidding for a certain quantity of indium ingots and bismuth ingots starting yesterday. Market sources indicate that the starting price for these indium ingots exceeds 4,000 yuan per kilogram, while the starting price for bismuth ingots is above 150,000 yuan per ton. The bidding results are expected to be announced before the Spring Festival. Market participants note that, given the clear trend of sluggish trading activity ahead of the Spring Festival, the timing of this bidding is not ideal. However, the relatively favorable starting prices have generated considerable market anticipation for the outcome of the bidding.
