SHANGHAI, Oct 14 (SMM) – China imported 1.58 million mt of copper concentrate in September, down 12.9% from a month ago, showed data from the General Administration of Customs on Monday October 14.
This marked the second straight monthly decline in copper concentrate imports after hitting a record high of 2.07 million mt in July.
For the first nine months of 2019, China’s imports of copper concentrate totaled 16 million mt, up 6.8% from the same period last year.
Customs data also showed that China’s imports of unwrought copper and copper products expanded 10.1% from August to 445,000 mt in September.
This brought imports of unwrought copper and copper products in January-September to 3.54 million mt, down 11.3% year on year.
