Jinxi will build a steel mill that can produce 10 million mt of steel a year in Fangchenggang

SHANGHAI, Sep 4 (SMM) – The Hong Kong-listed China Oriental Group said on Tuesday September 3 that its subsidiary, Hebei Jinxi Iron & Steel Group, will build a steel mill that can produce 10 million mt of steel a year in Fangchenggang city in southern China’s Guangxi Zhuang Autonomous Region.

This would be a swap with Jinxi’s existing capacity in the top steelmaking hub of Tangshan in Hebei, which often requires production cuts to fight against air pollution.

According to the statement, Jinxi has signed an investment contract with the Fangchenggang government. The project will be developed in two stages, with 5 million mt of capacity for each.
