China exported 96,400 mt of aluminium bars, rods and profiles in May, up 10.45% from Apr and 18.83% from May 2018

SHANGHAI, Jun 26 (SMM) – China exported 96,400 mt of aluminium bars, rods and profiles in May, up 10.45% from April and 18.83% from May 2018, showed the latest data from China Customs.

Those products were under HS code 76041090, 76042100, 76042990, 76041010 and 76042910.

The devaluation of yuan and Chinese exporters’ efforts to tap markets overseas accounted for the increases.

In the face of domestic market saturation and thinner profits, large and medium-sized Chinese manufacturers of aluminium profiles turned to the international markets.

Stronger ties between China and other countries, driven by the Belt and Road Initiative, boosted external demand for aluminium profiles and grew exports.

Higher exports of aluminium profiles, bars and rods also saw little impact from the anti-dumping measures from the US and Vietnam and higher US tariffs.
