The Ministry of Ecology and Environment quashed market talk that cuts at steel mills are likely to be lifted in the heating season

SHANGHAI, Sep 11 (SMM) – The Ministry of Ecology and Environment (MEE) refuted market talk that cutbacks across steel mills are likely to be lifted in the upcoming heating season, in a statement issued in the afternoon of Tuesday September 11, SMM learned.

In the morning of September 11, market talk suggested that the Ministry of Environmental Protection will lower emission cuts from 5% to 3%, and that cuts on the "2+26" cities may be lifted. This lowered prices of futures across SHFE rebar and hot-rolled steel.
