With an orange alert, cities in Hebei will enforce level-II emergency smog reduction measures

SHANGHAI, Nov 21 (SMM) – China’s northern province of Hebei required 10 cities and Xiongan new district to issue an orange smog alert from 18:00 CST on Thursday November 22, according to the provincial ministry of ecology and environment.

The cities in China's top steelmaking province will enforce level-Ⅱ emergency smog reduction measures.

Medium to heavy pollution will affect south, central and east Hebei from November 24. It is likely to ease when cold air moves from the north-west on November 27.

The province's air pollution prevention and control office said that governments of the 10 cities and Xiongan new district will be allowed to lift the alert when air quality improves.
