Xuzhou steel mills pass environmental checks, to resume in late Jun

Most steel mills in Xuzhou, Jiangsu province have passed checks by the provincial inspection team as of June 14

SHANGHAI, Jun 14 (SMM) – Most steel mills in Xuzhou, Jiangsu province have passed checks by the environmental inspection team from the provincial government as of June 14, SMM learned. 

The Huahong, Dongnan and Jinhong mills are expected to resume operation in late June. Other plants such as Dongya will follow. 

It is expected that molten iron output will be available on June 25, SMM learned. 

In early April, all steel mills in Xuzhou were suspended for rectifications following inspections by the provincial authorities.
