More iron ore from Australia, Brazil as port maintenance ends

Some 60 vessels with 9.7 million mt of iron ore are expected to arrive at major Chinese ports during June 8-14

SHANGHAI, June 12 (SMM) – Some 60 vessels with 9.7 million mt of iron ore are expected to arrive at major Chinese ports during June 8-14, SMM learned. This will be up 790,000 mt from 8.91 million mt during June 1-7.

For the same period, volumes of iron ore departing Australian ports are likely to increase 690,000 mt to 16.24 million mt. Those leaving Brazilian ports are also likely to rise 130,000 mt to 7.81 million mt. The completion of routine port maintenance at the start of the month accounted for the increases.
