Iron ore arrivals at ports to extend decline

Some 60 vessels with 8.91 million mt of iron ore are expected to arrive at major Chinese ports during June 1-7

SHANGHAI, May 28 (SMM) – Some 60 vessels with 8.91 million mt of iron ore are expected to arrive at major Chinese ports during June 1-7, SMM learned. This will be down 330,000 mt from 9.24 million mt during May 25-31.

For the same period, volumes of iron ore departing Australian ports are likely to fall 620,000 mt to 15.55 million mt. Those leaving Brazilian ports are also likely to decline 770,000 mt to 7.68 million mt due to routine port maintenance at the start of the month.
