SHANGHAI, Apr 18 (SMM) – China's National Development and Reform Commission (NDRC) will conduct inspections in May and June to eliminate ditiao steel and overcapacity in the steel industry, it announced on Wednesday April 18.
Spokesman for the NDRC, Yan Pengchen, said at a news conference that the inspection process was formulated after the commission consulted the relevant departments. The next step is to implement the checks across local plants.
Ditiao steel refers to poorly manufactured steel products that pose a threat to environmental and construction standards.
