Spot premiums on zinc in Shanghai fell rapidly in the latter half of this week as traders sold actively to generate cash before the upcoming Chinese National Day holiday.

SHANGHAI, Sept. 29 (SMM) – Spot premiums on zinc in Shanghai fell rapidly in the latter half of this week as traders sold actively to generate cash before the upcoming Chinese National Day holiday.

SHFE Base Metals Gain Ground Except for Aluminum, with Copper and Lead Surging

Spot premiums on regular #0 zinc dropped from 360-460 yuan per tonne early this week to 70-180 yuan per tonne on September 29, SMM data showed. 

Zinc Inventory in China Three Major Markets to Grow after China National Day Holiday, SMM Says

Spot premiums in Shanghai will unlikely fall further after the holiday, SMM predicts.
