SHANGHAI, Sept. 11 (SMM) – The 8.2-magnitude earthquake in Mexico killed at least 90 people as of yesterday. The quake is the most powerful one in 100 years in the country, its president said.

Mexico is not world’s major copper producing country, and the nation’s copper mines mainly locate in its inner land, far away from the region affected by the quake.

Hence, Mexico’s earthquake exerted little impact on the copper market.
