SHANGHAI, Aug. 17 (SMM) – Global lead market was in supply deficit of 195,000 tonnes in January-June 2017, according to Bureau of Metal Statistics (WBMS). The figure was 172,000 tonnes in 2016.
Lead inventory increase 4,000 tonnes in late June against 2016’s level.

Global refined lead output grew 11.5% YoY to 5.88 million tonnes in the first six months of 2017, and demand expanded 706,000 tonnes. Apparent demand in China totaled 2.58 million tonnes, up 523,000 tonens against the same period of 2016, accounting for more than 425 of global demand. US’s apparent demand increased 193,000 tonnes on a yearly basis.
China Lead Output Up 5.6% YoY in July 2017
Global refined lead output was 990,700 tonnes in June 2017 with consumption of 1.009 million tonnes.
