Downstream buyers rarely enter the market since SHFE zinc prices climbed, and overall transactions were weaker than yesterday across major markets, SMM noted. Zijin and Chihong brands remain in shortages.

#0 zinc traded mainly in 24,310-24,530 yuan per tonne range in Shanghai on August 9. #0 zinc prices in Guangdong were 24,280-24,310 yuan per tonne and 24,450-25,270 yuan per tonne in Tianjin, SMM data showed.
