Are Zinc Oxide Plants Hurt after Operating Rates at Tire Producers in Shandong Fall? SMM Reports

Operating rates at all steel tire plants in Shandong fell over 10% in May. Some small tire plants in the region which did not meet requirements remained closed in June.

SHANGHAI, Jun. 19 (SMM) - Operating rates at all steel tire plants in Shandong fell over 10% in May. Some small tire plants in the region which did not meet requirements remained closed in June.

How did this affect local zinc oxide plants?

Overall, local zinc oxide plants were barely affected. Some small zinc oxide producers in Shandong slashed or ceased production, but medium and large ones witnessed steady orders, SMM survey showed. These producers absorbed orders from small ones.
