SHFE 1703 lead opened at RMB 19,275/mt and finally closed at RMB 19,245/mt, up RMB 165/mt or 0.86%.

SHANGHAI, Feb. 9 (SMM) – On Thursday, SHFE 1703 lead opened at RMB 19,275/mt and then dropped to RMB 19,210/mt. The contract finally closed at RMB 19,245/mt, up RMB 165/mt or 0.86%. Trading volumes dropped 11,796 to 66,112 lots and positions increased 212 to 42,292.

SHFE 1703 lead will fluctuate at around RMB 19,000/mt for the short term with support from the moving averages.

Sluggish Transactions in Domestic Secondary Crude Lead Market, Prices at 15,250-15,400 Yuan/mt

The domestic secondary crude lead market experienced sluggish transactions. As of February 6, 2026, the ex-factory tax-exclusive offers for domestic secondary crude lead stood at 15,250-15,400 yuan/mt. Downstream refined lead and alloy smelters gradually entered the holiday period, showing weak stockpiling willingness. Overseas lead ingot suppliers basically halted transactions with China due to poor consumption in the Chinese market, with only some previously concluded shipments maintaining normal in-transit transportation. The trading atmosphere in the secondary crude lead market will continue to weaken next week.
