SHANGHAI, Jan. 18 (SMM) - The Committee of Statistics under Ministry of National Economy of the Republic of Kazakhstan announced January 17 that the country’s refined copper, refined zinc and crude steel output increased in 2016, wenhua.com reported.
Refined copper output grew 3.1%, and refined zinc output increased 0.5%. Crude steel production leapt 9.2%.
The London-listed KAZ Minerals and Glencore’s Kazzinc contribute most of the country’s metal output.
Arcelor Mittal has one steel plant in Kazakhstan, which is the country’s only largest steel plant.
