NEW DELHI (Scrap Register): India containerized shredded scrap import monthly average prices climbed 8 percent to $251 a ton during the month of November, according to the Steel Index.
Finished steel producers in India were able to increase their prices at the start of the month on the back of demand increasing for both steel and scrap, as well as due to the rising global scrap prices.
The second half of the month saw prices decline however as container sales to Indian mills stalled again. After reaching a high of $255 a ton, prices declined again to end the month at $250 a ton.
