China Eliminates Massive Nonferrous Metals Smelting Capacity during 12th Five-Year Plan Period

China invested 21 billion yuan in heavy metal pollution treatment during the 12th Five-Year Plan period, according to Economic Information Daily.

SHANGHAI, Dec. 5 (SMM) - China invested 21 billion yuan in heavy metal pollution treatment during the 12th Five-Year Plan period, according to Economic Information Daily.

Nonferrous metals capacity eliminated includes 2.88 million tonnes of copper smelting capacity, 3.81 million tonnes of lead smelting capacity and 860,000 tonnes of zinc smelting capacity. Besides, 96.22 million KVA of lead battery capacity was also phased out.
