China’s refined copper output will grow 3.1% to 8 million tonnes in 2017, SMM predicts at the 2016 SMM Summit.

SHANGHAI, Nov. 14 (SMM) - China’s refined copper output will grow 3.1% to 8 million tonnes in 2017, SMM predicts at the 2016 SMM Summit.

According to our survey which covers 90% of domestic copper smelters, we found refined copper output will increase at a slower pace in 2017 due to fewer copper smelting projects in 2016, SMM said.

But output will rebound in 2018 with new capacities coming online in 2017.
