SHANGHAI, Oct. 19 (SMM) - China’s Ministry of Industry & Information Technology (MIIT) set growth target for nonferrous metals industry at 8% during 2016-2020, the 13th Five-Year Plan period, sina.com reports.
Average annual growth rate of apparent refined copper consumption is expected to be 3.3%, with 13.50 million tonnes in 2020 and output of 9.80 million tonnes.
Apparent primary aluminum consumption is estimated to grow at an annual rate of 5.2%, and reach 40 million tonnes in 2020, with output of 40 million tonnes.
Apparent lead consumption is estimated to rise at an annual rate of 0.6%, and reach 4.50 million tonnes in 2020, with output of 4.65 million tonnes.
Apparent zinc consumption is estimated to rise at an annual rate of 1.7%, and reach 7.30 million tonnes in 2020, with output of 7.10 million tonnes.
