Combined zinc inventories in Shanghai, Tianjin and Guangdong fell 7,300 to 343,300 tonnes this past week, SMM reports.

SHANGHAI, May 20 (SMM) – Combined zinc inventories in Shanghai, Tianjin and Guangdong fell 7,300 to 343,300 tonnes this past week, SMM reports.

Zinc inventories in Tianjin were steady. Outward shipments were stable as downstream purchases were made on an as-needed basis. Arriving shipments of Hongye zinc were extremely limited, but shipments of Zijin zinc arrived in the latter half of last week, SMM understands.

Guangdong’s zinc stocks grew slightly. Most downstream buyers stayed on the sidelines, leaving outward shipments low. Spot supplies grew.

Zinc inventories in Shanghai continued falling.

Total inventories in the three regions should remain steady next week, SMM predicts.
