SHANGHAI, Mar. 29 (SMM) – Global Ferronickel Holdings Inc said on Mar. 28 it had signed contracts to supply a total of 4.5 million wmt of nickel ore to Chinese buyers.
The volume, accounting for almost 90 percent of its 2016 output target, will be delivered in one year at spot prices, Global Ferronickel said.
Chinese buyers include Baosteel (1 million wmt), Tsingshan (2.5 million wmt), and Shanghai International Trade (1 million wmt), the company added.
One senior official of the company said in an earlier interview to cut shipments to about 5 million wmt this year, but also added the flexibility to increase its shipments in 2016 if prices rise.
