SHANGHAI, May 27 (SMM) – China’s lead demand will weaken with workers of lead-acid battery producers returning to farm works in the June’s busy season, SMM holds.
“As some workers of battery plants asked for a leave after the rush period in agriculture set in, battery output dropped, and many producers cut lead purchases in response,” one lead trader told SMM.
Lead demand, which is already weak in an offseason for e-bike and automobile battery sectors, will fall further with battery production down for a lack of labor, SMM research team says.
