Main sea freight index at Baltic Exchange continue to stay below 950 points

The main sea freight index at Baltic Exchange for bigger vessels continued to stay below 950 points mainly due to a drop in capesize activity.

LONDON (Scrap Register): The main sea freight index at Baltic Exchange for bigger vessels continued to stay below 950 points mainly due to a drop in capesize activity.

The overall index, which factors in average daily earnings of capesize, panamax, supramax and handysize dry bulk transport vessels, down by 5 points or 0.53 percent to 930 points on Thursday.

The main sea freight index at Baltic Exchange is the rate which tracks for ships carrying dry bulk commodities.
