Rare Earth, Copper, Lead-Acid Battery Capacities Included in China 2014 Elimination Plan (Second Batch)

A total of 103,710 tonnes of rare earth (oxide) capacities at 28 domestic enterprises will be eliminated this year, China’s Ministry of Industry and Information Technology (MIIT) announced.

SHANGHAI, Aug. 19 (SMM) – A total of 103,710 tonnes of rare earth (oxide) capacities at 28 domestic enterprises will be eliminated this year, China’s Ministry of Industry and Information Technology (MIIT) announced on its website on Aug. 18. 

Those targeted rare earth companies are mainly in Inner Mongolia, Hunan, Sichuan and Gansu. 

In accordance with MIIT’s latest plan, a total of 132 domestic enterprises in 10 industries, including steel-making, ferroalloy, copper smelting, cement, lead-acid battery, rare earth, etc., will be included in its second batch of 2014’s elimination plan.
