SHANGHAI, Feb. 11 (SMM) – China’s Jiangxi eliminated inefficient capacity of 80 companies from seven sectors in 2014, with 305,000 tpy of copper smelting capacity phased out, China Mining Association said on its website.
The backward capacity elimination program in Jiangxi covered seven sectors – cement, papermaking, steelmaking, copper smelting, ferroalloy, dyeing, and lead-acid battery, and helped save about 1.5 million tce in total energy.
4.45 million kVAh of lead-acid battery capacity has been removed and 705,000 tpy of steelmaking capacity has been eliminated as well.
