Baltic index falls on lower bigger vessels rates

The main sea freight index at Baltic Exchange for bigger vessels fell to 836 points on Thursday due to lower capesize and panamax rates.

LONDON (Scrap Register): The main sea freight index at Baltic Exchange for bigger vessels fell to 836 points on Thursday due to lower capesize and panamax rates.

The overall index, which factors in average daily earnings of capesize, panamax, supramax and handysize dry bulk transport vessels, was down 27 points or 3.13 percent to 836 points.
 
The main sea freight index at Baltic Exchange is the rate which tracks for ships carrying dry bulk commodities.
