Sea freight index at Baltic Exchange drops to 886 points

The main sea freight index at Baltic Exchange for bigger vessels dropped to below 900 points on Monday due to falling in capesize and panamax rates.

LONDON (Scrap Register): The main sea freight index at Baltic Exchange for bigger vessels dropped to below 900 points on Monday due to falling in capesize and panamax rates.

The overall index, which factors in average daily earnings of capesize, panamax, supramax and handysize dry bulk transport vessels, dropped by 18 points or 1.99% to 886 points.

The main sea freight index at Baltic Exchange is the rate which tracks for ships carrying dry bulk commodities.
