BRUSSELS (Scrap Monster): According to the most recent statistics published by the World Steel Association, the crude steel production by 65 member countries was 141.184 million tonnes (Mt) in May this year, 2.2% higher than the production during same month the previous year.
The total crude steel production by EU-28 countries during March this year was 15.042 Million tonnes (Mt), higher than the May 2013 production of 14.640 Mt by 2.7%. Other European countries produced 3.173 Million tonnes of crude steel, lower by 1.6% when compared to 3.225 Million tonnes production achieved during May 2013.
