Spot Zinc Price Movement (2013-11-22)

SHANGHAI, Nov. 22 (SMM) – #0 zinc prices were between RMB 14,900-14,940/mt, with spot premiums between RMB 70-110/mt against SHFE 1402 zinc contract prices. #1 zinc prices were between RMB 14,860-14,870/mt, with supply tight. SHFE 1402 zinc contract prices hovered between the 5 and 10-day moving average. Smelters were moving goods normally, while traders lacked interest to enter the market, and downstream buyers built stocks modestly, keeping transactions muted. Shuangyan branded #0 zinc prices were between RMB 14,930-14,940/mt, and Qinxin and Jiulong branded #0 zinc prices were around RMB 14,900/mt. Spot premiums of imported #0 zinc were RMB 60-80/mt against SHFE 1402 zinc contract prices, trading between RMB 14,880-14,900/mt. Belgian, Indian and Mexican #0 zinc prices were RMB 14,850/mt. With tight domestic #1 zinc supply, Kazakhstan #1 zinc prices were between RMB 14,810-14,820/mt.
