SHANGHAI, Nov. 2 (SMM) – The listed prices of Inner Mongolia Baotou Steel Rare Earth International Trading Co. for rare earth oxides on Thursday stirred market speculation over national stockpile buying, Shanghai Metals Market (SMM) has learned.
Offers were 370,000 yuan per tonne for didymium oxide, 600,000 yuan per tonne for praseodymium oxide, 350,000 yuan per tonne for neodymium oxide, and 5 million yuan per tonne for europium oxide, according to the website of Inner Mongolia Baotou Steel Rare-Earth (Group) Hi-Tech Co., parent company of Inner Mongolia Baotou Steel Rare Earth International Trading Co.
Unlike in 2012, the company did not mention inspection and payment date. These listed prices are updated prices of Inner Mongolia Baotou Steel Rare-Earth (Group) Hi-Tech Co. on a regular basis designed to guide rare earth price trends, which has nothing to do with national stockpile buying, some sources confirmed to SMM.
