SHANGHAI, Jun. 3 (SMM) – Silicon metal prices held steady at RMB 11,200/mt on May 31. Downstream buyers rarely purchased raw materials due to financial pressure by month’s end, but transactions for low-grade silicon metal were decent with market prices relatively firm. Spot prices for domestic silicon metal are expected to hold steady around RMB 11,400/mt for several days due to tightening supplies. However, the onset of high-water season left both sellers and buyers on the sidelines. As such, silicon metal prices are expected to experience changes in mid or late June.
