SHANGHAI, Apr. 28 (SMM) – The Ministry of Environmental Protection released a list of the first 10 companies to qualify under its new environmental protection reviews. 6 of the 10 are located in Jiangsu. The list includes leading battery producers, such as Chaowei Power and the Camel Group. Tianneng Power, however, which had passed preliminary review, was unexpectedly removed from the final list.
In compliance with the Proposal for Facilitating Environmental Protection Works and the 12th Five-Year Plan for Heavy Metal Pollution Prevention & Treatment, the MEP launched this most recent round of environmental protection reviews of lead-acid battery and secondary lead producers to secure public health.
According to the MEP, each of these 10 companies underwent thorough self-inspection, preliminary review by their respective Provincial Environmental Protection Bureaus, expert reviews, and on-site inspection by the MEP’s own Supervision Center, before their names were announced to the public.
The polar plate processing and battery assembling capacity of the 10 companies listed totals 34.71 million Kvah.
The MEP previously released a list of 12 companies that qualified under its preliminary environmental protection reviews on January 14. Chaowei Power, Tianneng Power, and the Camel Group all made that list.
