SHANGHAI, Jan. 28 (SMM) – China will impose a 4% consumption tax on lead-acid batteries starting from January 1, 2016, according to an announcement issued by the Ministry of Finance.
The announcement says China will levy consumption tax on batteries, but Ni-MH battery, lithium-ion battery, lithium primary battery, and solar cell are exempted from the tax.
