Average Operating Rate at Brass Bar Producers Down Slightly to 58.6% in October

SHANGHAI, Oct. 23 (SMM) –SMM's latest survey found that the average operating rate at brass bar producers was 58.6% in October, down slightly from the prior month. These brass bar producers said consumption in terminal products using brass bar was not seen to improve following China's National Day holiday. Coupled with softening copper prices, brass bar consumers opted to stand on the sidelines. Moreover, some terminal products consuming brass bar are applied in Japan's home appliances and automobile products. Nevertheless, increased tensions between Japan and China dampened these product orders, resulting in a slight drop in brass bar orders.
