On Wednesday, the most active SHFE aluminum contract price hovered at RMB 16,000/mt.

SHANGHAI, May 30 (SMM) – On Wednesday, the most active SHFE aluminum contract price hovered at RMB 16,000/mt due to weak domestic consumption and intensified European debt crisis. Spot aluminum prices in South China fell to RMB 16,090-16,110/mt. Although cargo holders were unwilling to move goods at low prices, buying interest downstream was lower, leaving transactions extremely quiet at the end of the month.
