SHANGHAI, May 25 (SMM) – On Friday, the most active SHFE aluminum contract prices failed to rise above RMB 16,000/mt in the morning, depressing spot market. In South China, spot aluminum prices hovered around RMB 16,100/mt. Buyers downstream were not willing to purchase at high prices, while cargo holders were reluctant to sell at low prices, with both buyers and sellers staying out of the market. Replenishments were also limited ahead of the weekend.
