South China Aluminum: Futures Fall after Opening Higher, Spot Market Remains Modest

On Tuesday, SHFE 1205 aluminum contract price opened higher at RMB 16,180/mt due to the increase in LME aluminum prices.

SHANGHAI, Mar. 20 (SMM) – On Tuesday, SHFE 1205 aluminum contract price opened higher at RMB 16,180/mt due to the increase in LME aluminum prices. However, the dropping Shanghai Stock Exchange Composite Index dragged SHFE aluminum prices down. Spot prices in Nanhai were between RMB 15,980-16,000/mt, up RMB 10/mt from the previous trading day. Mainstream transactions were made at RMB 15,990/mt according to traders, but market remained modest with little change.
