Traded prices of spot aluminum in Shanghai were between RMB 15,920-15,940/mt on Friday.

SHANGHAI, Mar. 9 (SMM) – Traded prices of spot aluminum in Shanghai were between RMB 15,920-15,940/mt on Friday, with discounts of RMB 40-60/mt over the SHFE current-month aluminum price. Low-iron aluminum was traded between RMB 16,030-16,050/mt in Shanghai. Traded prices of spot aluminum in Wuxi were between RMB 15,920-15,940/mt. Market confidence was boosted due to the notable decrease of CPI data on Friday. As a result, SHFE aluminum prices rose, promoting buying interest among downstream buyers and middlemen. Meanwhile, cargo holders held prices firmly at RMB 15,920/mt, but spot prices failed to increase along with futures prices due to limited demand, and price difference among mainstream transactions was only RMB 20/mt. Trading sentiments cooled down gradually.
