South China Aluminum: Prices Fall Slightly, Downstream Buyers Are Bearish

The most active SHFE aluminum contract price failed to rose above RMB 16,200/mt on Wednesday.

SHANGHAI, Mar. 6 (SMM) – The most active SHFE aluminum contract price failed to rose above RMB 16,200/mt on Wednesday, depressing market confidence. Aluminum price in South China fell to RMB 15,900-15,930/mt. Purchases were sparse with downstream buyers being bearish. Meanwhile, cargo holders were not willing to sell goods at low price, giving certain support to prices at RMB 15,900/mt. Transactions were limited on the whole.
